Mattei Compressors has recently received accreditation from SAFEcontractor for the 12th year running.

The SAFEcontractor accreditation promotes and recognises high standards of competence and compliance in health and safety, ensuring best practice standards are met across industry.

There are six steps to accreditation, which includes an auditing process, where a company’s health and safety procedures and track record are examined and assessed. It is only once the necessary standards are met that a contractor can be accredited and then included on the SAFEcontractor database.

Andy Jones, general manager at Mattei, commented, “Health and safety is such an important factor in every aspect of our work and that’s why we are so proud to be accredited for the 12th year running.

“The accreditation provides us with not only credibility to our clients and customers but also the confidence in our own skills, knowing that we meet best practice standards.”

John Kinge, head of risk at SAFEcontractor, said, “Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies.”

“More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Mattei has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector.”

SAFEcontractor is an accreditation programme that recognises the high standards of health and safety practices amongst UK contractors. It is the fastest growing health and safety accreditation scheme in the UK, with more than 160 major clients and over 18,000 contractor members.
