Global motor and drive manufacturer WEG will present its latest solutions for energy efficiency and renewable integration at WETEX 2025. The Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition will be held from September 30 to October 2 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), with WEG exhibiting at stand C12, Hall 3.
Hosted by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), WETEX is the Middle East’s largest event dedicated to clean energy and sustainable technology. The Middle East is emerging as a key player in the energy transition, with ambitious targets and significant investments in solar, wind and green hydrogen. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is aiming for net zero by 2050 and Saudi Arabia is pursuing its goals set out in Vision 2030, but fossil fuels still dominate the energy mix. Electrification will be essential to bridge the gap, and WEG’s portfolio of smart technologies can help to support the energy transition in the Middle East.
Among the WEG products on display at WETEX will be the W51Xdb flameproof motor, engineered to deliver high power density in compact form. The motor offers outputs of up to 800 kilowatts (kW) and meets global explosion protection standards (ATEX, IECEx, CSA), making it suitable for hazardous applications in energy, water and processing industries. The W51Xdb has a modular design, along with reduced noise and vibration levels and can be seamlessly integrated with WEG’s digital portfolio. Designed to exceed IE4 efficiency, the W51Xdb is ideal for businesses looking to lower operational emissions.
WETEX attendees will also be able to learn more about Pump Genius, WEG’s VSD-integrated solution for efficient and reliable pump control. Available in Simplex, Multipump and Multiplex configurations, the specialist software platform automates pressure and flow control, cuts energy use and reduces downtime. It is suitable for municipal water supply, irrigation and wastewater treatment, where variable demand requires smart control and management.
For solar applications, WEG will display the ADV200-SP drive, designed for photovoltaic (PV) water pumping systems. The drive delivers high-efficiency flexible pumping even in remote locations, with dynamic MPPT algorithms, hybrid AC/PV input capability and power ranges from 1.5 to 400 kW. It offers a range of advanced features for intuitive operation, including tank level control, dry run protection and real-time power source prioritisation for sustainable and resilient water supply systems across the region.
WETEX visitors can also explore WEG’s growing digital portfolio, including its Motion Fleet Management (MFM) platform. MFM is a cloud-based system for condition monitoring for motors, drives, gearboxes and other assets using WEG’s Scan and Gateway technologies. By enabling predictive maintenance and real-time performance insights, MFM helps industrial operators reduce total cost of ownership, reduce downtime and create smart, efficient operations.
“Energy demand in the Middle East is growing rapidly, and governments are advancing ambitious sustainability targets. This makes energy efficiency and renewable integration in the region more important than ever” said Raphael Torrano, managing director at WEG Middle East. “WETEX is a valuable platform to engage with partners and decision-makers committed to the Middle East’s clean energy transition. WEG provides technologies that support more sustainable, resilient and high-performance operations across the region, whether that’s through improved motor efficiency, digitalisation solutions or powering solar pumping systems.”
