After a break due to Covid restrictions, Megger’s popular and successful cable test seminar is returning, giving cable specialists an unrivalled opportunity to find out about the latest developments in the field. This year’s event, which is the sixth in the series, will be held on Wednesday, 12th October at the National Conference Centre in Solihull, West Midlands. Immediately adjacent to Junction 6 of the M42 motorway, this location is easy to reach, and ample free parking is available on site.

The seminar programme covers HV and LV cable testing, diagnostics and fault location with presentations from Megger’s Tony Walker, Borzoo Mardani and Gernot Pakleppa, all of whom combine in-depth expertise with extensive practical experience in the cable test sector. Topics that will be addressed during the day include cable test standards, fault pre-location methods, developments in pinpointing technology, test van solutions, online monitoring and grid analytics. In addition, two case studies will be presented, looking at the SSE LV acoustic project and offshore cable challenges.

Throughout the day, delegates attending the seminar will have opportunities for hands-on examination of a wide range of cable test equipment and for discussing their own specific requirements and challenges with Megger’s experts. There will also be ample time for networking and exchanging information with other delegates.

Registration for this not-to-be-missed event opens at 8:30 am, with the first speaker at 9:00 am. The presentations conclude at 4:30 pm; they will be followed by a question-and-answer session and time for informal discussions. Lunch and light refreshments will be provided. Attendance at Megger’s sixth cable test seminar is free of charge, but prior reservations are essential, as space is limited and demand is expected to be high.
