Leading cable and pipe seal manufacturer Roxtec is raising its profile in central and south west England with the appointment of Jacob Barratt as Technical Sales Manager, Power and Process Industries.

In his new role, Cardiff based Jacob will further Roxtec’s regional growth strategy across various areas, including substations, energy storage, power transmission and distribution, onshore oil, gas and chemical processing plants.

Jacob will be responsible for managing client relationships, business development, and overseeing onsite installations. This is to ensure compliance in line with industry safety standards, contributing to Roxtec’s overarching mission to protect lives and assets.

Jacob has a strong background in sales after working across a range of industries – including retail and care home specification – over the course of his five-year career. During this time, he channelled his expertise as a store manager and technical sales representative, which led to him being headhunted by Roxtec.

Roxtec’s Managing Director Clive Sharp said: “We were impressed with Jacob’s positive personality and knew he’d be an ideal cultural fit for Roxtec. We’re excited about further building our presence in central and south western England by appointing Jacob.

“This region offers huge potential in the power and process industries. This means that there are many opportunities for Jacob to take on a variety of projects and customers, while building valuable relationships with both new and existing clients.”

Jacob added: “Roxtec is a global market leader with strong core values. The team offers exceptional ongoing training and I’m learning something new every day.

“I’m ambitious and have high hopes to increase growth across the region where I hail from to bring our clients superior cable and pipe sealing solutions.”

The Roxtec sealing system is a safety solution for all sectors across the power and process industries. Its flexible seals simplify design, roll-out, production and maintenance. They may be used as a standard to seal multiple cables or to enable changes and easy resealing without spare parts.

In addition, Roxtec makes a variety of products for substations’ underground applications, including cable and pipe seals and cable duct seals. These products are used to protect equipment, keep substations dry, and prevent fire, gas and water damage.

Roxtec entered the marketplace in 1990 and is now active in more than 80 markets worldwide. The Swedish headquartered company has a turnover of more than £220 million and a team of 29 in Bury.
