PIP Global Safety, a global leader in personal protective equipment, and the Fabrics business of W. L. Gore & Associates, a global materials science company and owner of the GORE-TEX brand, have announced a strategic collaboration focused on advancing next-generation protective workwear for workers operating in some of the world’s most demanding and hazardous environments.
By combining PIP’s experience in worker protection with Gore’s materials science capabilities, the collaboration will accelerate the development of protective solutions that address increasingly complex workplace hazards. Together, the companies will deliver high-performance workwear that enhances protection, comfort, durability and mobility, helping workers stay safer and perform at their best throughout the working day.
“This strategic collaboration reinforces our commitment to leading the future of industrial protection through innovation,” said Eric Bernstein, president of PIP Global Safety. “By combining PIP’s deep understanding of workplace hazards with the new innovative products from the GORE-TEX Brand, we have an incredible opportunity to create breakthrough solutions that raise the standard for worker protection while improving comfort and wearability. This is just the beginning of what we believe will be a transformative relationship for the industry.”
“Gore has a long history of developing technologies that perform in the most demanding conditions,” said Jeff Jung, sales leader for the GORE-TEX brand’s safety business. “Teaming up with PIP allows us to bring proven innovations such as the lightweight and breathable GORE-TEX PYRAD products to even more workers around the world.”
As part of the collaboration, PIP and the GORE-TEX brand are introducing the PIP Multi-Hazard Workwear Collection, an innovative new platform recently showcased at the National Safety Council (NSC) Safety Congress & Expo. Designed for workers exposed to multiple workplace hazards, the collection combines protection against thermal, electrical and chemical hazards in a single high-performance garment system.
The Multi-Hazard Workwear Collection addresses a longstanding challenge faced by many industrial workers: the need to wear multiple layers or specialised garments for different hazards. By delivering multiple forms of protection in one more comfortable garment, the collection helps simplify PPE selection, promotes wearer acceptance and use, reduces overall costs and provides continuous protection throughout the working day.
Looking ahead, PIP and developers at the GORE-TEX brand expect the collaboration to serve as a catalyst for a pipeline of new product innovations over the coming quarters. By combining their complementary strengths in PPE design, worker insights and materials science innovation, the companies are well positioned to help shape the future of industrial workwear and deliver meaningful advances in worker safety globally.
