HIKMICRO is once again strengthening its commitment to the fire and rescue sector with the new FP31 thermal imaging camera. Building on HIKMICRO’s long-standing expertise in thermal imaging, the FP31 extends the company’s FP Series by blending enhanced thermal resolution and advanced image processing with rugged protection features.

The launch follows HIKMICRO’s appearance at a major fire safety industry trade show in Hannover in June 2026, where the company showcased its growing firefighting portfolio and technological capabilities. The subsequent launch of the FP31 further expands HIKMICRO’s offering for the fire and rescue sector, reflecting its continued focus on developing reliable solutions for professionals operating in complex, high-risk environments.

Clarity When It Matters

HIKMICRO’s FP31 is designed for frontline firefighters, vehicle and aircraft rescue specialists, industrial fire responders, wildland firefighters, search and rescue professionals, and hazardous materials specialists. It combines 384 × 288 resolution with HIKMICRO’s localized SuperIR image enhancement technology, which sharpens images in magnified areas during digital zoom.

Another key feature, Automatic Gain Control (AGC), dynamically adjusts image contrast according to the temperature distribution within the scene, helping users identify subtle thermal differences that could otherwise be difficult to see. Built for Extreme Conditions

Fire scenes are unpredictable, making equipment reliability essential. The FP31 is IP67 rated for protection against dust and water, while its PPSU polymer housing provides high impact resistance. Thermal endurance of up to 260°C enables operation in extreme heat, supporting demanding scenarios such as post-flashover and engine-room fires.

The FP31 also carries ATEX explosion-protection certification, allowing deployment in specified hazardous environments including chemical plants and oil and gas facilities.

A Portfolio for Every Scenario

The FP31 is the latest addition to HIKMICRO’s broader range of professional firefighting thermal imagers. Sitting between the compactFB Series and higher-performance FT Series, the FP Series is positioned as a versatile, portable solution for a wide range of fire and rescue applications.

The existing FB21 provides a compact and reliable option where budget is sensitive, combining a highly sensitive VOx detector with image enhancement technology for observing in darkness and smoke. At the other end of the portfolio, the FT31 is designed for high-risk rescue operations, combining a highly sensitive detector with ‘object details enhancement’ and 60 Hz image frequency for smooth viewing when panning scenes or observing moving targets.

Complementing these thermal imaging solutions, HIKMICRO’s AI Series brings acoustic imaging technology to firefighting and safety applications. Acoustic imaging can help professionals identify abnormal sound sources and potential risks such as gas leaks, providing information that thermal imaging alone cannot reveal.

Together, the FP, FB, and FT Series, alongside AI Series, gives firefighting and industrial safety professionals access to complementary sensing solutions across applications ranging from routine inspections and fireground searches to complex rescue operations and hazardous environments.
