MTC Events is launching the first annual National Nuclear Manufacturing Conference 2025 at its facility in Coventry. Co-produced by MTC, AMRC and NMIS, the conference is timed to follow the UK Government’s spending review, when announcements on Sizewell C power station and the Small Modular Reactor (SMR) competition are anticipated.
It will delve into how these imminent government funding decisions will stimulate economic growth, create high-skilled jobs, and provide the supply chain with a defined pipeline of opportunity to enhance prosperity across the UK. Attendees will hear from government, industry leaders, and explore opportunities to revitalise the nuclear energy supply chain. A full day event programme on the 1 July, based on the theme of ‘Unlocking Prosperity Through Technology’, will feature a ministerial keynote and speakers from Great British Nuclear, ONR, Rolls-Royce SMR, GE-Hitachi, Holtec and more.
Andrew Bowfield, Senior Business Development Manager – Civil Nuclear at MTC said: “Nuclear energy offers a proven solution to align energy security with our ambitious net zero goals. By increasing generation to 24 GW by 2050, the government is committing to the biggest expansion of nuclear power for 70 years and is creating immense opportunity for the UK supply chain. We are hosting the National Nuclear Manufacturing Conference as a platform for industry to share insight and shape the future direction of the sector.”
Attendees arriving on Monday 30 June will be able to take a tour of MTC’s facilities to see how it can support the entire lifecycle of nuclear programmes, from concept creation to waste management, covering design and validation to maintenance, obsolescence management and decommissioning. The MTC’s experienced team of experts will be on hand to bring over 50 years of collective experience spanning both fission and fusion.
The National Nuclear Manufacturing Conference 2025 is free to attend and open to those interested in the business opportunities that the renewed investment in the UK’s nuclear sector will provide. Register your interest now: https://www.the-mtc.org/national-nuclear-manufacturing-conference-2025
