Leading industrial hygienic floor specialists Kemtile has appointed Louis Waugh into a new role as Account Manager after a 12-month secondment as Health & Safety Manager.

The move will see the experienced environmental, health & safety (EHS) and construction manager take responsibility for client services across civils and smaller turnkey projects including hygienic flooring, drainage and associated project works.

It marks a 10-year career with Kemtile in a variety of roles for Louis. He commented: “Taking on this position feels like a natural progression.”

Louis brings a wealth of experience to the role having managed complex projects across high-demand sectors like food and pharmaceuticals. He is passionate about creating safe, efficient, and compliant environments and delivering flooring that exceeds expectations.

Director Jamie Cook said the move was a good one for the business. He commented: “Louis has successfully led diverse projects, from site refurbishments and structural improvements to major shutdowns and large-scale equipment installations, so he is ideally qualified to move into account management and the close client liaison required.

“His hands-on approach, combined with a strong understanding of CDM regulations and international safety standards, has delivered high-quality results on time and within budget. We wish him every success in the new role,” he added.

Louis said he was looking forward to building collaborative relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve project success. “I enjoy the challenge,” he said.

“Whether coordinating site operations, managing safety protocols, or resolving logistical issues, I try to approach every project with dedication and professionalism,” he commented.

Previous experience includes managing the transformation of an old manufacturing facility into a state-of-the-art food production plant, successfully delivering pharma facility upgrades, shutdowns and refurbishments and overseeing critical projects for leading brands like Airbus, Unilever, Bakkavor, Lonza, Grupo Bimbo and Nutricia, ensuring seamless execution under CDM regulations.

In this new role at Kemtile he will be responsible for developing and managing client relationships for the company’s civils, drainage, and hygienic flooring projects, coordinating project delivery with operational teams to ensure timely completion.

He will also be involved in preparing scopes of work, proposals, and quotations at Kemtile to identify opportunities in smaller turnkey projects and ensuring exceptional service and technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
