JC-Electronics is launching its new Buyback scheme, enabling customers to dispose of their disused industrial electronics simply and conveniently – while also getting paid.
The scheme means companies no longer have to pay to dispose of old, obsolete or broken components responsibly and in accordance with WEEE regulations. Instead, JC-Electronics can visit the site, review the equipment that has been set aside for scrappage and offer a price to purchase reuseable items.
“Traditionally, companies have discarded old industrial electronics when they become surplus to requirements or superseded with upgraded components – often organising skips and additional overtime to manage the process,” explains Dan Jones, Buyer at JC-Electronics. “However, the costs of this can escalate. For example, it may cost £20 to dispose of an old computer monitor, but if you have 150 monitors to dispose of, that’s £3,000 of overheads.
“With our new Buyback scheme, we pay customers for the privilege of taking away equipment they would otherwise throw in a skip. This means they avoid the hassle of disposal, contribute to their ISO 14001 environmental targets, and generate income into the bargain.”
Once JC-Electronics removes the items, it ships them to its professional refurbishment centre in the Netherlands, where they undergo a full, quality repair to return them to perfect working order. This includes an extensive technical assessment, replacement of components, undergoing rigorous testing, and having their programs removed so they are clean and ready for a new customer.
In addition, the company now offers a cashback option that allows customers to trade in a disused item when ordering its replacement through the company’s web shop. To access this, customers simply select ‘Cashback’ when placing the order on the JC-Electronics website, and the company’s experts will refund/credit the cashback upon acceptance.
Dan Jones concludes: “Professional refurbishment is now an excellent choice for many businesses, due to the fact it involves standardised processes, component replacement, comprehensive testing, and quality assurance protocols to our JCertified standards. Our Buyback scheme and cashback option just add to its attractiveness.
“With many manufacturers still paying to dispose of valuable equipment, the two schemes offer a unique way to cut costs, generate revenue from old assets, and reduce environmental impact. They really are a win-win, and I can’t wait to see all our customers start to take advantage of them.”
