Hopkinson Waste Group (Staveley, Derbyshire) has recently acquired HR Skip Hire (Halfway, near Sheffield, Yorkshire). The acquisition which completed today (Tuesday 1 Nov 2022) brings together two hugely respected and long-established waste management and skip hire businesses that service its broad customer based in Sheffield, North Nottingham, Derbyshire and the surrounding areas.
Operating from their 32-acre recycling centre set in the beautiful rolling Derbyshire countryside and with great connections to the road network just 10 minutes from the M1 they are ideally placed to develop and expand their customer base, utilising capacity within their existing operations.

With a fantastic local customer base in Sheffield, there are many synergies with HR Skip Hire and Hopkinson Waste to develop and grow both brands by merging operations at our existing site. Both Hopkinson Waste Group and HR Skips have a very strong heritage and excellent local reputations, they are ideally positioned to expand and service the wider local and regional areas. We have further acquisition and growth plans as we look to maximise and develop our operations.
This acquisition follows the retirement of David Hopkinson, founder of Hopkinson Waste Group, and his sale of the business to its current owners earlier in the year.
