Arco Professional Safety Services has captured the iconic annual Red Arrows flyover at the Blackpool Airshow for the second year running. Scaling the Blackpool Tower, Russ Edwards, Training Instructor at Arco took the extraordinary pictures of the airshow with Red Arrows Wing Commander, Adam Collins.

In order to get this picture, Russ Edwards delivered working at height training to Adam Collins, enabling him to safely ascend the 518ft tower safely. The Wing Commander then saluted his team from the landmark’s flagpole as they flew overhead.

Russ captured the stunning moment the Red Arrows flew overhead using a 360-degree camera securely mounted to him, above a crowd of 200,000 people.

Russ Edwards, Training Instructor, Arco Professional Safety Services, said: “It was our absolute honour and privilege to train and guide Wing Commander, Adam Collins of the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team to the flagpole to gain the best possible vantage point of his incredible aerobatic display team.”

Adam Collins, Wing Commander of the RAF Aerobatic Team, said: “Despite being a little apprehensive about the climb, the quality of instruction and equipment provided by Russel and the Arco team meant that I had full confidence in the whole process. The experience of climbing to such a unique vantage point of an iconic structure was amazing – it gave a unique perspective on a Red Arrows show. Being at 500ft on the outside of a tower is a very different feeling from flying a jet but is something I would definitely do again.”
